Sharknado Review

Anthony Ferrante's Sharknado (2013) is, simply put, one of the worst movies to garner attention, yet also one of the smartest movies made. It uses an obscene amount of awful CGI, a completely irrelevant and fake plot, as well as the typical "hot bombshell that falls in love with the hero" character to create a movie that is so bad, that you just want to watch the entire thing.
Yes, those are sharks swirling around in a tornado
Sharknado is one of the worst movies I have ever watched. And that is the pure genius behind this god-awful film. The whole draw to Sharnado that Ferrante creates is to take viewers away from the typical well produced, perfectly executed, and flawless edited films we now see in the theatre and instead show them something that looks like a high schooler and his two friends would create in an entry level film class. The whole idea behind this movie is to have the viewer laugh at it, as opposed to with it like in the films we see today. As soon as you are able to get over the awful acting and pure stupidity of the plot, you are able to surprisingly get into the movie. The purposely poor editing and shot types introduce a new type of viewing, being entertaining by the making of the movie rather than its plot. This is Ferrente's genius behind Sharknado.

  1. Good. I wonder if the actors understood that part of the attraction of this film is their terrible acting...they don't care though; Reid and Ziering are in the sequel!! (Coming to SyFy this July!!)
