Sharknado

Sharknado was born to stink. It was just so ridiculous, the special effects were clearly fake, and the lines were so cheesy. The thing that was really great about the movie is that it wasn't THAT far out. There are movies that are made seriously that have awful effects, awful plots, and awful acting. Sharknado reminded me a lot of the movie "Scary Movies" because of its mocking tone. Like the Scary Movies, Sharknado was kind of making fun of hollywood. It had a bunch of Jaws references, a Baywatch- like scene, and mocked absurd Sci- fi plots. Which is why it was so good. Although we continue to watch extremely cliche movies, we also tend to love movies that point out how cliche the business can be. There is something hysterical about the truth.
Honestly, Sharknado had the foundation to be a legit hollywood movie. It had a plot that upheld a disaster, it had a love story, and it had special effects. If Anthony Ferrante had chosen to make the movie a little less ridiculous it probably would of been torn apart by the critics. It would of just been another cliche movie trying to be different, but failing.
Although I didn't get any life lessons or deep meaning from Sharknado, it was overall just a great movie. It was relaxing to watch and such a feel good movie. I didn't have to think too hard about what was going on or try to follow the plot. Basically Sharknado was like a 3rd grade book. 3rd grade books always have plots where people change bodies or go back in time, which clearly cannot happen. They are also always easy to read and they are just fun. Sharknado was a 3rd grade book.
